Travel began as an enjoyable way of relaxing and disconnecting with concerns at home. Travel soon became a passion. Our assumptions about the world are challenged when we face different cultures and new experiences.
Michael bring the organizational experience of professional consulting work with a variety of non-profits including the YMCA, Stanford University, Shelter Network, the Core Social Services Agencies of San Mateo County, and El Centro de Libertad. Michael currently serves as President of the Woodside Terrace A.M. Kiwanis Club and the Woodside Terrace A.M. Kiwanis Foundation.
Michael Akana is certified by the Cruise Line Industry Association (CLIA) as a Master Cruise Counselor (MCC), a Luxury Cruise Specialist (LCS) and is enrolled in the Elite Cruise Counselor (ECC) program. He is also a Certified Niche Cruise Specialist by the Niche Cruise Marketing Alliance Niche Cruise Marketing Alliance.
